Chartres, Sanctuaire du Monde (CSM) is a French not-for-profit public interest organization. It was set up to support the long-term preservation and restoration of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Chartres and to bring together and foster all the individual and collective initiatives likely to contribute to this. In addition, CSM works to gather funds and donations to finance conservation projects carefully chosen in collaboration with the Regional Directorate for Culture and Communications – DRAC Centre Val de Loire. This cooperation exemplifies the will of the French Government to associate French non-profit organizations to mobilize financial resources from the public to preserve this sanctuary.

Chartres, Sanctuaire du Monde is American Friends of Chartres’ sister organization in France. The conservation projects we respectively finance dialogue in the cathedral.
