This series of five lectures by Mike Klug is a selective, personalized tour of Chartres Cathedral. Mike Klug was brought up a Lutheran and later educated at St Louis University where a Jesuit priest, Father MacNamee, introduced him to the iconography of stained glass and medieval architecture. His interest was sustained upon meeting Malcolm Miller, docent at Chartres Cathedral and encouraged by his wife Merce.
A Medicare professional for most of his working life, Mike’s passion for Chartres was contagious. He shared his meticulous research through his blog ‘Mandorlas in our midst’, often highlighting the connections between European medieval art and US architecture. He intended to open to people of all faith backgrounds an appreciation of the medieval art and architecture he cherished so much.
