Ellen Shortell leads the grant committee in awarding the first Servane de Layre Mattéus Grant, from the Servane de Layre Mathéus Fund for research on Chartres to Mr. Elias Feitosa de Amorim Junior in the amount of $2000.
His research thesis at the Sorbonne is on Trama vitrea: the circulation of Byzantine artistic models in France in the 12th and 13th centuries and their relationship with the Marian devotion present in the stained glass windows of Chartres Cathedral.
