Direction régionale des Affaires culturelles - Centre-Val-de Loire (drac)
The DRAC is the regional arm of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Communications in France, for region Centre Val de Loire. It operates in the fields of knowledge, protection, conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage It also promotes architecture and supports artistic creation. It is committed to the dissemination of culture in all its aspects, artistic and cultural education, transmission of knowledge, promotion of cultural diversity and broadening of audiences. It fosters the development of the cultural economy and cultural industries.
DRAC also ensures the application of regulations and implements scientific and technical control in the above-mentioned fields, in liaison with other competent departments of the Ministry of Culture. It oversees the State’s actions and develops cooperation with local authorities, to which it can provide technical support where necessary.
AFC has worked closely with the cultural heritage curators of the regional branch DRAC Centre-Val-de-Loire. For each project, AFC signs a tripartite agreement between DRAC, on behalf of the French State, and CSM that reflect the respective financial commitments and obligations of AFC and the French State, and the role of CSM for the disbursement of the funds. Donors’ visits of the restoration projects at the Cathedral have been led by some of the curators in charge of the projects.
